Zibo State New & High-tech Industrial Development Zone is one of the 53 State High-tech Industrial Development Zones approved by the State Council in November 1992. Initially, the planned  area was 7.04 square kilometers. In December 1992, with the approval of Shandong Provincial Government, Zibo Export-Oriented Industrial Processing Zone became a provincial level of economic development zone, with a total area of 13.6 square kilometers. The High-Tech provincial Government approved the re-expansion of Zibo High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, with an area totaled 115 square kilometers, with includes two community offices, one town with 58 villages, and a population of 160,000 .
     As an agency of Zibo Municipal People’s Government, the Administrative Committee of New & High-tech Industrial Development Zone is responsible for first level municipal administration of economic and social affairs.
     The Administrative Committee consists of the following service departments, such as Attracting Investment, Economic Administration, Construction Planning, Personnel Administration, Industrial and Commercial Administration, and Local Taxation.
